CSHF OFA CAER Eye Clinic at the Clumber National

The CSHF is hosting their first OFA CAER Eye Clinic at the Clumber National in Morgantown Pennsylvania on Wednesday April 24th from 9a to 5p.  Nancy Bromberg, VMD, MS, DACVO will be doing the exams.

All Clumbers from show dogs to pets are encouraged to sign up and take advantage of this opportunity.  Your Clumber’s eyes change throughout their life. Even if you’ve done this before, it may help you to understand where they are now. If you haven’t it will let you know how your Clumber’s eyes are. Registering on OFA will help us understand the health of the eyes of our breed and where to go to improve them.

Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia has been a topic that the Clumber Spaniel Health Foundation pays attention to. This year at the Clumber Spaniel Club of America National in Ohio, the CSHF sponsored a free talk to all the members in attendance on that very subject. They brought in Steven Friedenberg, DVM, PhD, Dip. ACVECC, Associate Professor of Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care Medicine and Genetics at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. In his talk he shared his research focus on understanding the genetic and immunologic mechanisms that causes IMHA in dogs. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge Dr Friedenberg.
